Duncan Backus | Senior Associate Los Angeles

Duncan Backus is a multifamily investment broker and member of the Brettwood Team, a broker team operating under Lyon Stahl Investment Real Estate. A Manhattan Beach local with deep roots in the South Bay, Duncan brings a client-first approach and creative mindset to apartment building acquisitions and dispositions across Los Angeles County.

Duncan’s journey at Lyon Stahl began in 2017 as Client Services Coordinator before moving into the Lead Coordinator role in 2018, where he focused on lead generation and guiding buyers through the transaction process from start to finish. That operational foundation gives him a ground-level understanding of every stage of a real estate transaction — a genuine advantage for his clients.

Originally from Dallas, Texas, Duncan came to California to play soccer at UC Santa Barbara, where he served as Team Captain his final two years, earned all-conference honors, and graduated with a degree in Film and Media Studies. The same discipline and leadership that defined his time on the field now drives his approach to investment real estate.
